Young California Mother Decapitated by man with a sword in broad daylight

The horrific attack occurred approximately 25 miles south of San Francisco, leaving witnesses stunned.

On Thursday afternoon, a mother in California was decapitated by a man with a sword while outside her own home, according to law enforcement and reports.

Officials have not yet named the suspect, but law enforcement sources for KGO Bay Area and San Francisco News say that Jose Solano Landaeta is the man in question. San Mateo Jail records show that he has been charged with murder.

Police Line Do Not Cross

He was held without bail and will appear in court on Friday. The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office didn’t respond to a request for further information.

At Laurel Street and Magnolia Avenue in San Carlos, approximately 25 miles south of Jose Solano Landaeta attacked the 25-year-old at 11:50 a.m., as reported by the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Department.

“The head was underneath the car, and she was laying in the back of the car — just severed,” Chapel Thorborne, the neighbor, told KGO, a local radio station. “And they covered her up.”

A woman was viciously killed in broad daylight Thursday when she was beheaded in San Carlos, California.

The victim’s two young children, a 7-year-old girl and 1-year-old girl, were inside the house at the time and did not see the attack take place. They have since been taken into custody by Child Protective Services.

“[Law-enforcement] arrived within minutes and found an obviously deceased female in the street in that area,” said Lt. Eamonn Allen during a press conference Thursday. “They began to work the scene and shortly thereafter, the male suspect arrived back at the scene and was quickly detained by sheriff’s deputies. He was later placed under arrest for homicide.”

Authorities said the weapon was a “stabbing instrument,” but Fox5 San Diego called it a “sword.” The item hasn’t been found, Allen said.

“The suspect is known to the victim and this is believed to be an isolated incident,” the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Department stated in an official announcement.

The individual is being detained without bail and is due to appear in court on Friday, according to court documents.
